The management of the NYSC has started inspecting orientation camps across the country in preparation for their reopening. Ahmed Ikaka, the NYSC director of the southeast zone, has inspected the orientation camp in Anambra state.
Mr Ahmed Ikaka said he was impressed with the readiness of the orientation camp for the post-COVID-19 activities. However, the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has started inspecting orientation camps across the country in preparation for their reopening.
Nyscblog recalls that orientation camps were temporarily suspended in March 2020 to prevent the spread of coronavirus among corps members. NYSC orientation camps across the country are being inspected ahead of the planned mobilisation of corps members.

On the Inspection on NYSC Camps ahead of Mobilization, the federal government on Thursday, September 3, gave the approval for NYSC to start making preparations for the reopening of orientation camps nationwide.
The management of the scheme has begun the inspection of camps ahead of the planned mobilisation of corps members, Daily Nigerian reported.
Mr Ahmed Ikaka, the NYSC director of the southeast zone, disclosed that the permanent orientation camp in Anambra state has been inspected and is fit for reopening.

The NYSC director said as part of the COVID-19 safety measures, the number of corps members that would be allowed in camps will be reduced. He disclosed that the number of NYSC batches would be increased in order not to congest the orientation camps.
Meanwhile, the management of the NYSC has said it will reopen orientation camps for prospective corps members as soon as the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 gives it the directive to do so.
Brig. Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim, the director-general of the NYSC made the statement during the inspection of some facilities destroyed by a wind storm in Gombe state, The Tribune reported.
In conclusion, he urged graduates who are waiting to be mobilised for the scheme not to be agitated.
