Here is the summary of the activities during orientation camp.
The Orientation programme is the first programme of the Nysc year. The objective is among other things to give corps members a better understanding and appreciation of the scheme.
However, one of the major important of the orientation sensitization process is to familiarize corps members with the environment (state) in their place of posting as well as to toughen and prepare corps members physically and mentally for the task ahead, enable them meet the challenges of the service year and the nation in the future.
Activities during Orientation Camp.
Activities in camp includes:
Registration
Registration commences in camp, where you will be required to submit your credentials and other vital documents. While proper documentation will be conducted at a later date with the registration and documentation officials
Kitting
All the course participants will be issued official kit items which will only be allowed on camp during the duration of the orientation course. It is important to note that assorted or un-official items will. It is permitted during orientation course and afterwards.
Your kit entitlements are:
- 1 piece of Khaki shirt and Khaki trouser
- 1 piece of Ceremonial cap
- 1 piece of Nysc crested shirt
- I piece of belt
- 2 pairs of white PT- Short
- 1 pair jungle boots
- 1 pair of white canvas shoe
- 2 pieces of white t-shirt
- 2 pairs of stockings

Accommodation
All will be accommodated during the exercise in the camp premises. You will be issued a mattress each and a bed space for the duration of the orientation course.
Morning Meditation
This aspect of the program is designed for corps members and officials to stimulate their mental potentials in both values and positive feelings towards fellow human beings and societal development in general
Lecture
One of the various programmes lined up to make orientation worthwhile is the lecture session. The lecture varies from operation of nysc, professional lectures, historical etc. the essence of these lectures cannot be overemphasized as they are packaged for your benefit during the orientation course, service year and after.
Physical Activities
Physical activities includes Drills, Martial Art, Man-O-War etc. These are meant to build up sound mind in sound body, provide training in self defense and produce responsible citizenry.
Skills Acquisition Programme
Moreover, It has been what next after the one year national service. Consequently, Nysc management institute SAED to build the capacities of corps members in small and medium scale enterprises in camp and after camp. Skill acquisition program on camp is two week intensive training which consists of hairdressing, ICT, makeup, tie and dye, agro allied, artwork, paint making etc.
Social and Sports
To wrap the summary of the Activities during Orientation camp, we must talk about social and sport. For every evening relaxation, after the rigorous exercise of the day, various social and sports activities are organized every evening, during the orientation course. There will also be inter platoon competition drills m, drama, cultural shows, football, volleyball, athletics and indoor games.
