I know most of us are familiar with Linda Ikeji; the female blogger, Tara Fela Durotoye, Uche Eze Pedro; popularly known as BellaNaija, Eseoghene Odiete; founder/creative director, hessy designs and Damilola Solesi- C.E.O/Creative director Smids Animation Studios; a 26 year old Nigerian entrepreneur.

There’s this old saying; “what a man can do, a woman can do much better.” This old saying is really true.

START SOMETHING NOW

Developing yourself as a woman is beyond your artistic movements in bed or your culinary skills. We need to build and commit ourselves to be hardworking. The reason why some ladies will continue suffering or remain average is because of lack of purpose and vision. Ladies, you all need to get it right! It is never too late to start something (start small and earn big), don’t let your background put your back in the ground. You can start something with the little you have and end up earning big.

Recently, I’ve had encounters with ladies who are into business; various types but there’s a particular lady’s story that caught my precious attention which i would love to share.

This lady is a Corp members presently serving in Oyo State, which happens to be the largest city in West Africa and the second largest in Africa. She was posted to the Oyo state house of assembly where she is serving as a youth corper and also serves as her place of primary assignment (PPA). This beautiful lady is in her mid twenties and very passionate about her work; shoe making. Her name is Eniola Bankole with the brand name HelenFeetz, a shoemaker who builds unisex Palm sandals and slides also known as slippers.

HOW THE JOURNEY STARTED

Eniola Bankole with the brand name HelenFeetz narrated how she started the shoe making business to us last week. According to her, she said she was flipping through Instagram with a friend in class and they both got stuck on a picture, it was actually a sandal.

Her friend told her she’ll pay any amount to get the sandals and Eniola told her friend that she would build the sandals for her whereas, she didn’t know anything about shoe making.

Eniola took a bold step by proceeding to getting materials and luckily for her, a shoemaker around her hostel put her through. Eniola successfully made about ten pairs of sandals, she found it interesting and made a decision to explore the shoe making world. Amazing, isn’t it?

CONSISTENCY, THE KEY TO PROGRESS

It’s been a year now and some months that Eniola Bankole started this business and we can assure you that she’s making huge progress and currently undergoing an upgrade class. Eniola is also interested in helping teenagers as she promised to train teenagers when she’s well established.
