According to the information that got to us at exactly 2am today, its of note that a mischievous letter with the subject “LETTER OF NOTICE TO ALL PLACE OF PRIMARY ASSIGNMENT” has been sent across all social media platform so as to mislead Corp Members.
LETTER OF NOTICE TO ALL PLACE OF PRIMARY ASSIGNMENT
The attention of the NYSC management has been drawn to a this letter with the above subject, purportedly signed by the director-general of nysc, brigadier general s. Ibrahim issuing a 17 days leave of absence to corp members from Friday 20th December, 2019 to Monday 6th January, 2020.
The NYSC Secretariat, Lagos State wishes to dissociate itself from the letter in its entirely as it is misleading semblance of a documentation that emanated from the office of the director general and the nysc secretariat, Lagos state.
For avoidance of doubt, any corps member that wishes to travel outside the state MUST apply in writing through the local government inspector and the employer, and receive a written approval from the state coordinator before embarking on such a trip. Also remember that, violation of nysc rules or disobeying the law guiding corps members attracts punishment. Examples includes 2-3 month service extension.
So we strongly advise you all to follow the rules and laws guiding you as a corp members. If you need to travel outside your state of deployment, kindly write officially to your Local Government Inspector also known as the LGI as regards permission to travel. Good luck If your permission is granted and if not please dont travel so as to avoid punishment attached to it.
In view of this, corps employees and the general public are to disregard the letter as corps members continues to carry out their duties according to laid down procedures.
