There are lot of matters arising as regard NYSC relocation process. Many corp members complains the moment they see their call up letter and they got posted or deployed to a state that is out of their choice.

Immediately they get posted or deployed, most corp members rally rounds to see the best way they can get redeployed or relocated back to their state of choice not considering the basic grants that is attached to securing your NYSC relocation process.

The NYSC relocation process had got so many corp members frustrated, angry and bitter because most of them done get relocated to their state of choice.

What is Relocation

Relocation is also known as redeployment. Its a popular journey that prospective corp member embark on immediately they are posted to a state they do not like.

Relocation or redeployment is better explained as when a prospective corp member is posted or deployed to a state and the prospective corp member does not like the state. Ideologically, prospective corp member are not expected to redeploy from the state been deployed to but we have many factors that leads to this intentions. 

Grants to consider when applying for Relocation

Considering the factors that leads to the intention of prospective corp member wanting to redeployed to another state or to their state of choice, NYSC came up with the basic grants that all prospective corp member must applied through before they can be issued a redeployment approval.

Mind you, before you consider to embark on the relocation process, It’s mandatory and compulsory you carry out the 3 weeks orientation camp slated for all prospective corp members before applying for any means of relocation .

Relocation Grant

The NYSC relocation or redeployment process is based on three grants.

1. Marital or Marriage
2. Health/Medical issue
3. Insecurity

• Marital grands

You can redeployed or relocate to your state of choice on this grant or package only if you have complete and genuine documents to back it up….

NYSC informed Married Female Corps Members who requested for Concessional Posting based on Marital and those who were relocated on camp on marital grounds, that their Maiden name would be replaced with either Husband’s Name or Surname. 

NYSC Management

It’s important to note that your NAME will appear on your nysc certificate the same way it’s on your dashboard. To this end you cannot revert him your maiden name after your nysc certificate has been produced. It’s part of the requirement, as a married prospective corp member, you must have changed your name to your husband’s name, have a newspaper publication,  your marriage certificate and wedding photos if available.

• Health/Medical issue

NYSC scheme stops granting relocation request on this package because most PCMs have been caught several times with fake medical report which has ideologically put a barrier to those that want to redeploy or relocate via medical reports.

Kindly note that those that have a genuine report to back their relocation request up, they have higher probability of been posted to their state of choice or a state closer to their state of choice.

Relocation via Medical Report

So, if you ‘re interested in the relocation/redeployment package, there are two process to it, It’s either you apply on camp collecting a relocation form which is free attached with  your medical report for redeployment then submit it to the appropriate bodies on camp for verification.

Mind you, you will be screened. For instance, if you claim you’re an asthmatic patient please be ready to use the inhaler and some other things just to verify if you’re asthmatic or not and after which you might not get relocated to the state you want but a neighboring state close to the your state of choice.

Insecurity 

Many PCMs that got posted to some northern state got redeployed why some didn’t. Insecurity grants is not always considered in most cases because it a question of “are people not living there, are businesses not flourishing”. Often time, redeployment by insecurity is not always considered but in some cases they are.

If you are posted to states like Kano, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi and the likes, don’t expect to see an automatic redeployment or assumed you will be redeployed based on insecurity issue.
